Arthur and Peggy Johnson were inducted into the Maryland Dairy Shrine in 2015.
Farm currently (2024) called "Arti-Jay Farm". Previous names were "The Hoyle Farm" and "The Dr. Hicks Farm".
Registered Holsteins. Selected as a King Barn Dairy MOOseum Featured Farm in July 2011.
In addition to the 70+ ac. sold to Arthur Johnson, Jr. and wife Margaret (Peggy) Dayhoff Johnson in 1981, a furthur 106 ac. were tansferred from the estate of Virginia E. Dayhoff to Margaret E. Dayhoff Johnson in 2001.
William Linwood Hoyle ran a dairy operation on this land in the early 20th Century. "The History of Dickerson, Oakland Mills, and Sugarloaf Mountain" by Donna L. Cutler includes a section on teh Will Hoyle Farm which states: "...until 1909 when William Linwoood Hoyle and his wife Mary Nellie Jones Hoyle purchased the land and ran a dairy farm." Additionally, the 1910 U. S. Census lists him as owning a dairy farm in the Barnesville District.
